My name is Laura Hardt.

I have been working in veterinary medicine with great passion since 2011. Initially, I worked for many years as a veterinary assistant in the renowned veterinary group practice an der Kapelle.
During this time, the desire to specifically support animals beyond surgical and medical treatments grew - especially in the areas of rehabilitation and mobility promotion. 

This path led me to animal physiotherapy. In 2014, I began my physiotherapy training with Katrin Blümchen, which I successfully completed in 2015. In parallel, I continued to support the practice therapeutically and gained valuable practical experience, including in gait analysis, X-ray image interpretation, and surgical assistance.

Through close collaboration with Dr. H. Hüby, Dr. U. Hüby, and later Dr. C. Kazmierczak, I gained deep insights into orthopedic and surgical diagnostics and therapy. This collaboration has significantly shaped my work to this day. With the expansion of the practice by Dr. C. Kazmierczak in 2015, we worked hand in hand from then on. Given the steady growth of the practice and the resulting limited spatial capacities, I decided to offer my therapy mobile for the time being, but still in close cooperation with the practice.

A new, exciting chapter began in 2024 for me and the entire practice team. Dr. C. Kazmierczak and Dr. A. Fischer are the founders of the "Fachtierarztzentrum Köln-Merheim" (Specialist Veterinary Center Cologne-Merheim), which offers patients expanded diagnostic and treatment options.

I was delighted to become part of this team and to work closely with the specialist veterinarians to ensure the well-being of their four-legged friends.

With the increasing demand for physiotherapy services, the desire for even more space and more possibilities matured. In January 2026, I will therefore open my own animal physiotherapy practice in Moitzfeld. There I can accept patients from the surrounding area as well as referrals from other veterinary practices and offer an expanded range of physiotherapy services.

At the same time, I will remain connected to the Fachtierarztzentrum Köln-Merheim: there, I will offer underwater treadmill therapy on Fridays as a branch of my practice - for patients for whom this form of therapy is particularly beneficial. 

Another heartfelt wish is coming true: in my new practice, starting next year, I will offer in-person seminars for aspiring animal physiotherapists and pet owners. The exchange, joint learning, and understandable conveyance of complex anatomical content are particularly close to my heart.  

I am also active online and share my knowledge through social media, learning materials, and videos. Training in animal physiotherapy is demanding - especially anatomy can be challenging. All the more important to me is a supportive, practice-oriented, and appreciative interaction with one another.

I look forward to supporting animals on their way back to more mobility and, at the same time, people on their way into animal physiotherapy.
