The underwater treadmill is a proven physiotherapeutic method for joint-friendly movement therapy. The buoyancy of the water reduces body weight, which facilitates movement and simultaneously allows for targeted muscle activation.

The treatment is suitable for dogs and cats and is used, among other things, for orthopedic and neurological diseases, after surgical procedures, and for chronic movement restrictions. The underwater treadmill can also be effectively used for targeted muscle building and coordination.

The goal of the therapy is to support physiological movement patterns, promote the resilience of the musculoskeletal system, and gradually improve the animal's mobility. The treatment is individually tailored and integrated into a holistic physiotherapeutic treatment concept.

I offer underwater treadmill therapy as part of my branch office at the Fachtierarztzentrum Köln-Merheim. Treatments take place there on Fridays.
