Underwater treadmill therapy

The underwater treadmill is a proven physiotherapeutic method for joint-friendly movement therapy. The buoyancy of the water reduces body weight, which facilitates movement and at the same time allows for targeted muscle activation.

The treatment is suitable for dogs and cats and is used, among other things, for orthopedic and neurological diseases, after surgical procedures, and for chronic movement restrictions. The underwater treadmill can also be used effectively for targeted muscle building and coordination.

The aim of the therapy is to support physiological movement sequences, promote the resilience of the musculoskeletal system, and gradually improve the animal's mobility. The treatment is individually adapted and integrated into a holistic physiotherapeutic therapy concept.

I offer underwater treadmill therapy at my branch in the Fachtierarztzentrum Köln-Merheim (Specialist Veterinary Center Cologne-Merheim). Treatments take place there on Fridays.
